I had a great time yesterday at my high school.
Meeting my classmates is always a delight and yesterday I got to spend time with two of my favorite teachers. It was nice. Best part of it was seeing 후배들 and talking with kyurie in such depth.
All the memories I have from the past three years, there’s not one piece of it I don’t cherish.
Oh and the person that I’ve become.

운동도 못했고 엄마도 유치한 소리만 하고 속도 안 좋고 눈이 아프고
성도착자같은 식당주인도 우습고 친구 하는 짓이 낯설고 맘에 안든다
읽고 있던 책도 존나 병신같고 돈이 아깝다 다 귀찮다…
매일 매일 기분이 다르다.

꼭 성공하고 싶다. 이젠 벌써 시간도 별로 남지 않은 3월 초.
다시 도전하려면 준비해야할게 참 많은 것 같다 생각만 하지말고 행동해야 하는데…

애들이 부를 때 나가고 운동도 빠지지 않고
춤도 시작하고 ap공부도 바로 시작하고 부지런하게 살자
4월 이후에는 법 공부, 에세이 준비도 해야 한다.

I need to assess the merits of the several paths I can take.
Should I get Jurisprudence after one year of Social Sciences or should I stick with Social Sciences with Philosophy on undergrad level, should I re-apply, U.S or U.K? Whoohoo!

I am mildly disgruntled by the progress of my work-out plan or lack thereof, and the uncertainty which bridles my eagerness to jump off to The Happyland. Fuck you whoever made the call not to accept me. You were so wrong.
For some time, I have been that I might find myself simply not good enough some day.
Uncertainty spurs this feeling. And when I am alone, whenever I’m not talking, reading, watching something, the downward spiral of abject pessimism overwhelms rational thoughts.

Other than that, good days. I think I’ll go with the Devil’s Plan from tomorrow.

It’s been such a long time since I’ve had an appointment that doesn’t involve drinking/outside school relationships that I nearly forgot what it is like to talk with a friend.

I visited 신사동 가로수길 with Yung In, had a cheat meal, cheat dessert and cheat coffee(s), all of which constitute a nutritional debacle in my diet plan, and had a lovely time talking about past, future, family, friends, etc. And I took a full advantage of the hipster/artsy cafes I can only be cynical with. I had a lot of fun talking like that in a long time.

Then I went to 압구정 to meet Hannah. I had not seen her for more than a month so I think we were both really happy that I could make it. I was shocked and moved by her poise in less than assuring circumstances. The restaurant we had to settle on, due to coldness, etc, was crappy; I honestly didn’t like anything about it. But I am still very glad that I spent time with her like that!

I came home pretty late, missed yoga, and brought mom some pies to make up for not having spent the day with her and vastly enjoying it. The time I can live with my parents, here in Yongin, Korea, sharing two meals every day and checking bed, is fleeting and precious. It’s so short compared to the span of time I’ll spend studying, exploring new environments and eventually building a home on my own. I will meet so many new people, make a lot of friends and constantly chisel the frame through which I view and communicate, whereas my parents will grow older, more deeply ensconced in this town, view, this life. Loyalty and love I’ll always have for them won’t stop me from growing out and going adrift. That makes me a bit sad.

Here’s the to-do list for the first quarter of 2011.

1. Exercise (Weight Training, Kendo, Yoga)
2. Read everything in my library
3. European History/ US Gov.& Pol.
4. Meet everyone that I promised to meet
5. Find the spot

Monday – Thursday : Work-out, study, etc
Friday – Sunday : Appointments, project

Second Quarter – Tutoring jobs, njob, reading

I have a feeling this will be an even more lovely year.

2. Wherever I go, I think I will have tones of fun. London, Paloalto, Durham, Houston, Baltimore, Brunswick, Chicago, New Haven (That’ll be heaven for at least six months though) and on and on…
On a second thought, probably not. But wherever I go, I’ll have all the freedom in the world to live by my life-long hedonistic principles. A thing about Columbia is that despite THE CITY and its amazing reputation, faculty and etc, it doesn’t have that appeal to me. Probably it’s from seeing floppy kids go there, or the expenses, or I don’t know. I mean even for grad school, I am simply obsessed with one school, though I’ll allow myself to be convinced. Meaningless, I guess.

3. I was reminded of an early chapter in Bill Clinton’s autobiography, in which he recalled one of his expositions from high school. Something like him feeling all the contradictory pairs of feelings, feeling as though he is ‘full of contradictions’ and ‘confused’. Also, in one episode of The Daily Show, with Drew Barrymore as guest, Jon Stewart describes her as “…so many contradictions yet full of vitality…” somewhere along the light-bantering about Drew Barrymore’s driving habits. Do many people share these contradictions that fill me up everyday?
Or is it just me?

4. Exhausted, mentally and physically. In my mind I am battling the 철권 monsters named by certain schools and is actually stuck in this deceptively uncomfortable single sofa in my room. I am getting sick of trying to come up with ways to fashion myself and is munching on cookies, biscuits, or what other form of excess carbohydrate. All these short supplements are inflating my already unmanageable self-consciousness.

Will be done with all of these and blissfully go back to chasing the ideal me.

Glee to Modern Family to Gossip Girl to NCIS to … the list doesn’t stop but Glee beats ‘em all!

A better one was American History X.
It made me think over my emotional condition these days, given that I am more irritable with all the pressure.
But the thing is that I know how I’m using this college app pressure as a blanket excuse for all the nasty retorts and whims.
Being angry is plain stupid but that’s hard to see when you are angry. So I thought I should try harder to put things into perspective, put my life into perspective.

The finding, a couple of weeks ago, that seemed like an epiphany of life time is fading too quickly. It’s not that I’m turning away from the idea, but it seems not to have registered to my behavioral pattern just yet.
Whatever comes in life is just something else happening to one individual. Now I’m not trying to retard my state of progress by some nihilistic retreat. The finding was that a man is bound to overrate everything related to him. Rather, try to sympathize with others who go through exactly same things. Nothing I’ve done and seen hasn’t been done and seen by humanity way before.

Today’s one of my best friends birthday. Happy birthday Yunhee.

I really hope they convey the person I am, because if they do, I’m sure I’ll get the interview.
It’ll be by far the biggest thing I’ve done in my life if it happens.

Last weekend was time spent superbly.
